Hydrin ® PolyepichlorOhydrin
COMPOUNDING & PROCESSING
Polyepichlorhydrin elastomers are formulated with common fillers (carbon black and mineral), plasticizers, stabilizers, process aids and curatives. There are certain nuances relating to cure chemistries and cure sites that are easy to understand and accomadate. The main issues relate to using an acid acceptor and remembering that the cure chemistry is acid / base related so that pH of the ingredients is very important. A generic formulation is shown below.

Hydrin ECO elastomers perform extremely well in the hot and fuel /oil mist laden environments anticipated in modern, efficient engines.
The excellent permeation resistance to gasses is an attractive feature and reason for using ECO homopolymers in air conditioning hoses and climate control system parts like diaphragms.
ECO elastomers are used in many fuel handling applications. These include both fossil and bio-fuels. Tube, intermediate and covers are all areas where Hydrin elastomer systems provide service.
Hydrin ECO elastomers are ideal for use in office automation equipment like laser printers. The static dissipative property is inherent in the polymer, which leads to very consistent performance.
